GROWNING  NUMBER OF CONSERVATIVE MP’S OPPOSE REPEALING THE HUNTING ACT 2004

Contrary to popular belief, recent months have shown opposing views within the Conservative Party about repealing The Hunting Act 2004.

Conservatives Against Fox Hunting believe it is timely to remind the country that there are a growing number of Conservative MPs who are prepared to clearly state their opposition to the Repeal of the Hunting Act and the return to hunting with dogs.

Over two thirds of Conservative supporters and the vast majority of the country oppose the repeal. Conservatives Against Fox Hunting, along with these committed MPs, will continue to encourage their elected representatives and colleagues to join them and say ‘No to Repeal..Don’t Run with The Pack.’

Conservatives Against Fox Hunting believe that on this Boxing Day we should celebrate the fact that hunts have moved with the times and taken the cruelty and the fox out of the sport.

Hunting is all the better and more popular because it has changed for the better. Where there is a need for control, it should be done humanely, without cruelty and not through the hunting of wild mammals with dogs which is outmoded and unacceptable to the majority of people.

“If this ever comes up in Parliament again the answer to those few who want to turn the clock back will be a firm no. This Government has far more important things to do than spending time on bringing back cruelty to animals for sport.”

Conservatives Against Fox Hunting and Conservative MPs who support our Boxing Day Message include:

Caroline Dinenage MP (Gosport);

Mike Weatherley MP (Hove and Portslade);

Tracey Crouch MP (Chatham and Aylesford);

Stuart Andrew MP (Pudsey);

Simon Kirby MP (Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven).
