Conservatives Against Fox Hunting and Humane Society International UK co hosted a reception for A Close Season For Hares at the House of Commons

The event was kindly hosted by the Chairman of the Associate Parliamentary Group For Animal Welfare -Neil Parish MP, Angela Smith MP and Adrian Sanders MP.Bill Oddie, the BBC Wildlife presenter also attended.

13 MPs and NGO guests attended. Speeches were given by both our Co Founder, the UK Director of HSI UK and Neil Parish MP and Angela Smith MP. A short film on protecting hares was also launched. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je9AEodxqlA

 

 

It was fantastic to hold the first hare protection reception in the House of Commons.The event was about raising awareness for MPs to support a close season for hares whose populations have decreased by 80% in the last 100 years. Populations have declined from 4 million in the 1880s to approximately 750-800 thousand hares today.
