Blue Foxes Say No To Repeal

Tory women against fox hunting: Tracey Crouch, Caroline Dineage, Esther Mc Vey and Laura Sandys( with Mike Weatherley in support)

“David Cameron’s pledge to hold a free vote on restoring fox-hunting was last night declared ‘dead and buried’ by a new breed of modernising Tory MPs. The so-called Blue Fox group of ambitious young urban Tories boasted that they had finally killed off any prospect of a Commons vote on reviving bloodsports before the next Election.” – Mail on Sunday

MPs who vote for repeal are depriving not only foxes protection from hunting with dogs but also stags and hares.  The ban also bans the cruel sport of hare coursing. It is extraordinary in the 21st century that  some MPs think that these activities deserve to be returned despite the  tireless lobbying by the RSPCA, IFAW, and The League Against cruel Sports and all our leading animal welfare organisations who work to keep these activities illegal and protect wildlife from the ban being overturned. A minority pro hunting lobby presses the government for these sports to return, excusing them as wildlife management and ‘rural traditions’. Polls have demonstrated that over 72% of people in rural communities are against these activities and want them to remain illegal and banned.
